Slowly waking up from a dream week in Arboli. I enjoyed the stay from first to last minute. Arrival on Sunday in Tarragona: Albert was there! And he, his lovely wife, his energetic daughter Zion , his 4 chicken laying 3 eggs a day, and last but not least his good dog were with until last minute. Lots of good climbing and yoga in the most beautiful surroundings. Yoga was in the backyard, punctuated by the tweets of birds, climbing was on isolated rocks Albert is familiar with. Still, I enjoyed our short outing to fashy Siurana, and the nice climb: "Sorry not clean". Come and enjoy!

I stayed at the Rock Climbing House with Albert, Lidia & Zion for the Summer Climbing Week in Jun’17.
The group was small (4 people) and Albert was able to match our climbing ability and styles to the best routes for us in the area. We climbed for the full 7 days, as well as lots of swimming, kayaking and engaging in a little knees-up at the St. Juan festival in Arboli, (which was brilliant fun).
In the past I wouldn’t typically have opted for a “hosted” climbing holiday, however given the amount of hassle removed by staying with Albert as well as maximising the time we had I’m sure this approach will be my preference for 7-10 day trips in future.
I was initially hesitant to book as I thought it would be too hot to climb hard given the time of year but I was very mistaken. Albert knows the area incredibly well and was able to pick the right crag (of the hundreds to choose from in the immediate area) at the right time of day to ensure we were always in the shade no matter what time of day. Albert was also very happy to flex his plans to what we were looking to do be it climb early / late, rest, swim, shop etc.
The Rock Climbing House setting was very relaxing, the living quarters were simple and very clean and the communal meals helping to build a good atmosphere between the group. The welcome was heartfelt and genuine and the service provided was beyond what I was expecting.
All in all the whole experience was fantastic, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough for climbers of all levels, (or even just a relaxing week for a non-climber away from it all).

I have stayed with Albert twice now for the Rock Climbing Week, and both have been fantastic experiences. The house is set in a beautiful location and the accommodation is very comfortable. The whole ambience is so relaxing and it's the perfect place to disconnect for a week (although there is wifi if you want it!) - a holiday in itself even without the climbing!
The climbing is absolutely amazing - each of my two visits have been unforgettable experiences. Albert knows all the best spots and picks different locations to give you an experience of different types of rock, different styles, heights, etc. He is able to recommend different routes depending on your experience (I am a beginner) and level, and on whether you are interested in pushing yourself or just want to enjoy climbing within your comfort zone. In terms of instruction, he offers as much or as little as you want - providing hands-on coaching and feedback on your technique, or just letting you get on with it.
But what really makes the climbing weeks special is the friendly and supportive atmosphere and the camaraderie within the group. Sharing meals at the Rock Climbing House (including Albert's famous homemade paella), having drinks and snacks at local village bars after a long day's climbing, and swimming in rivers or going to a spa on a rest day builds up a great team spirit and makes for an unforgettable experience.
I can't recommend staying at the Rock Climbing House enough, and I will certainly be back as soon as I can!

We had such a great time at Alberts place! He was very helpful and welcoming to us. He knows a lot about climbing in the area and gave us any useful tips! We visited Arboli during a week for climbing holiday. The house is situated very convenient close to many great crags in the area. There are to big bunk beds and one normal sized bed. It's a quite small place but offers everything you need including bathroom and kitchen. Also, the garden offers rest day activities like slackline, table tennis, pool and even a boulder wall! I would highly recommend this place!

“Albert was a really welcoming host during our stay. The appartment is quite small but cosy and provides everything you need. We were five people and stayed for 10 days for a climbing holiday. He waited for us until we arrived from our late flight from Barcelona. Albert knows the area very well - where to climb when it's windy, or rainy and where to go on rest days. The garden is great with hamocks and a slackline and a lovely dog, chickens and rabbits. We really recomend the Rock climbing house and would defenitly come back. ”

“We had a wonderful stay in Alberts house, it is an amazing location. You are in the middle of the mountains with walking paths from the house and the village arboli is very close by if you need anything. We were given a warm welcome by Albert, who is a very nice host. He didn't stay for the weekend, so we had the giant garden all to ourselves. The garden is great, lots of places to play for the kids, hammocks to relax in and a big barbecue. The kids loved the chickens and the eggs were delicious! Also the house inside is really nice, there is a double bed bunk bed (and a separate single bed), our kids really liked their little den at the bottom. It's really well equipped, there is everything you need. ”

We stayed at Albert's climbing house for 5 days for a new year trip. The house is extremely cozy and Albert was a wonderful host. He welcomed us and our friends who were not staying in the house and could always help us with suggestions for climbing and other activities. I would definitely recommend his place not only for climbers but also for people who want to spend some days in a beautiful house with stunning surroundings :)

Albert and Lidia are really welcoming and knowledgeable about the local climbing and area, the place is warm, comfortable and clean and its really close to plentiful amazing crags. The garden is a lovely place to hang out when your not climbing. All in all a great place to stay if you are looking for affordable, simple but well thought out accommodation.

Thank you Albert and Lydia for a fantastic week in Arbolí! Our 5 year old daughter says it was her favorite part about our trip to Spain! The accommodations were very comfortable and we had plenty of room. And Albert and Lydia's hospitality are unmatched! They instantly made us feel right at home and part of the local community. They helped us with our Spanish, taught us how to make local cuisine, and took us to great climbing spots! Highly recommended. We will return!

Honestly I am not exactly sure how to describe Albert... He lives in his beautiful house with his girlfriend Lydia and his incredibly welltrained dog messi. He knows pretty much all there is to know about the area he lives in, and he is incredibly kind and welcoming, in short the perfect host. Normally this would be where I would end my recommendation I mean who could ask for more than the perfect host? But for us Albert became more than the perfect host, he became a legend that we will tell other people about for many years to come. We came to Spain primarily for rock climbing, and Albert is without a doubt the most knowledgeable and strongest climber any of us have every climbed with. So for anyone out there that are looking to do rock climbing I cannot recommend Alberts place enough.
